JACAFA CONFERENCE “Education Unlimited: Education as a Key for Sustainable Economic Development”

The JACAFA Conference “Education Unlimited: Education as a Key for Sustainable Economic Development” aimed to gather representatives of the governmental and nongovernmental institutions in the field of education, representatives of the embassies and civil societies, state and private Universities’ students representatives of the Republic of Tajikistan and Japan with the purpose of sharing experience in the field of education, evaluation of the common grounds for establishing mutually beneficial cooperation in  the education sector.

This summary captures the half-day programme of presentations and interactive dialogue at the conference which took place on November 24 in Dushanbe Tajikistan.

The abovementioned Conference brought together 80 representatives of the governmental and civil society representatives from 2 countries to discuss the role of education as the key for sustainable economic development, expanding capacity to address current and future development challenges of this facet and developing sustainable policies and grounds for cooperation.

The conference started with opening remarks by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Mr. Hajime Kitaoka, Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Gulov Abdurahmon Karomatulloevich, Head of Education Management Information System Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mr. Saidov Abdusattor Samadovich, Vice President of the Academy of Science of the Republic of Tajikistan. At this stage, the conference continued with greetings from sponsor and organizer Mr. James Huffman the Project Manager of The Nippon Foundation and Mr. Abdullo Kurbanov the Co-founder of the Alif Academy. The conference covered interactive presentations and discussions on topics related to the country’s economy and latest trends in the education sphere, IT education, accessibility of education, quality and relevance of education for today’s workplace and inclusive education. The conference concluded with a set of presentations of real study cases describing the status quo, challenges and opportunities bound with education sphere.
